7:30pm

The Conjunto Cats

Conjunto Cats Conjunto Cats was formed in the Summer of 2009 as a backyard, party/family band. It was the idea of Art Campos to form this band with his step brother Jeremy Saenz. ART C: The band was formed to really just play for family functions. Since we had a few musicians in the family why not provide our own entertainment instead of hiring from outside. We loved to play so why not… We ended up taking it a lil further than anticipated, started playing local bars, etc. We ended up recording some music for our friends and families just so they cld have our music in their cars or for those “jam while you grill” moments.. That recording ended up being a full 10 track Cd. JUST FOR FUN! The next production came in 2015 and became our first legit recording which was entitled “Some type of Conjunto Groove” that CD did very well for us and pretty much put us on the conjunto music map! One song that hit very well was “Me Aggaraste Borracho” but also had others that made noise as well like “El Camaroncito” “Sufriendo Y Penando” and “La Hilacha” that production release under AMI records still continues to be heard heavily throughout the US & Mexico… In 2018 we began production on our second cd entitled “Beyond the Plan” it came with the song “Limoncito” that became an instant hit in the conjunto music genre. This production was released under CCMusic. Both of these projects were recorded, mixed and mastered by Grammy affiliated engineer & producer Eddie Perez. The next few years we’re keep busy performing, made appearances in Ohio, Illinois and Nevada for the Tejano music Convention. We also made appearances at San Antonio Rodeos, Austin Rodeos, SA Spurs games and the State Fair in Dallas. We’ve been on 4 conjunto music cruises in the last 5yrs and of course numerous clubs and festivals. Fast forward to 2023… We began another production for a new album, which we were not planning on doing anymore full albums, only planning on single. We we’re approached by Grammy Award winning engineer & Producer Gilbert Velasquez. He took us under his wing guided us and we’ve recently finished that project, hopefully to be released by Summer 2023. We we’re blessing with the opportunity with Gilbert Velasquez, he’s won 17 Grammys on different productions. I think we’ve accomplished a lot for the amount of time we’ve been in the industry, we’re at a point where every performance it pushing us to a higher status as we go. The band is led by myself Art Campos(Vocals & Bajo Sexto), My son Zeke Campos(Vocals & Accordion) my son Diego Campos (bass) and a close friend Nathan Alzalde(drums) We hope you all enjoy the show we bring you as much as we enjoy the crafts they we have been blessed with to share with you… Art Campos Conjunto Cats
